In order to meet their commitment to increase the quality of customer service, Horários do Funchal have launched an international public tender to carry out the integration of a real time information system, with the capability of providing information to the public concerning bus arrival times at the main bus stops.

Tecmic was subcontracted by the consortium to supply an Operating Support System (SAE) – with automatic vehicle location using GPS, which will ensure better network management and more security for passengers and drivers; increasing service regularity through the planning and implementation of measures to support public transport.

Tecmic is the only national company with fleet management solutions that develops systems specific to the passenger transport segment, competing in projects for national and international operators with major international companies.

Due to the fact that the number of vehicles, implemented functionalities and volume of communications are extremely high, these systems are very demanding in terms of efficiency. Tecmic possesses all the required know-how in terms of electronics and software development to be able to develop the entire product in-house.
