Tecmic – Tecnologias de Microelectrónica, founded in 1988 is part of the aitec group, one of the largest IT groups in Portugal. Currently the company develops and markets fleet management solutions (XTraN) remote equipment monitoring (Simor), access managemet (Siga) and waste recycling container management (Ecogest).
XTraN is Tecmic’s best known product, and its various versions are aimed at the planning and supervision of all types of vehicle fleet: goods transport,taxis, waste collection, transport of valuables and assistance services, (XTraN), passenger transport (XTraN Passenger) and security and emergency forces (XTraN Enforcement).
On a national level, Tecmic is the market leader in the implementation of information systems for fleet management activities, whose key customers are Carris, Transportes Luis Simões, CTT – Portuguese Post Office, Bank of Portugal, and several local councils, among others.

Making use of information transmitted by on-board information systems using any available type of mobile communication network (GSM, GPRS, Trunking, TETRA, analogue PMR, Standard-C) the relevant companies’ back-office systems are fed with information essential to operations, in sufficient time to allow optimization of processes.

The partnership between Tecmic and Motorola helps to consolidate the process of internationalisation of the Portuguese company, represented in the US, Canada, Germany, Switzerland Austria, Spain, UK and South Africa.
